Kenyaways
Created in July 2008 by Linzi Kennaway who grew up on this little portion of paradise since birth. After a 4 year career as a kite instructor in Diani, she decided that Diani needed somewhere for fellow passionate kite surfers to stay and enjoy the beach life. She converted the old family house into a guesthouse with a bar and restaurant and kite school.
Linzi’s father, Kenyan bred Tony Kennaway bought the property in 1959 when Lions roamed the beaches and the forest was home to herds of Elephants and other wild animals. Tony started and operated Diani’s first diving business here at Kenyaways as well as his infamous parasailing business behind a landrover on the beach.
As the years have gone on and Diani has developed, Galu Beach (separated by a headland from the main Diani Beach) although home to wild beasts no longer has has kept it’s unique and exclusive charm from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist beaches that East Africa is becoming subject to.
The Hotel is family run by all four Kennaways, Tony, Joey, Linzi and Olivia. Along with the family we have a wonderful team of fantastic staff who will very much make your stay feel like you are in your very own home away from home
