The first proper photo shoot of the new up and coming band – The Purple Hearts was shot mid October 2010 in and around central Cape Town. The photo shoot was the brain child of Michael Everson of JMR Records who wanted to generate publicity for his recently signed band, The Purple Hearts. We developed the concept and look for the photo shoot over a couple of beers at Hudsons Burger Joint on Kloof St, in Cape Town. The Idea of the shoot was to make it fun and vibrant, the aim was to use typical cliché’s of the rap world and recycle them to be fun and sarcastic of the rampant consumerism of the Hip Hop culture.
